The style of this manta’s weaving from this man who is over 92 years old, is unique to our people not only for the things he taught to my father and older brother as he is also a shaman, he lives in the community of Tinque, some 4500 meters above sea level.
In town, he does not know electricity only uses candles to light his home, this manta was made under the sunlight, so it has great harmony with nature and is unique, this was used for some ceremonies because you will see foxes, wasps , butterflies, monkeys, spiders, and condors, on the sides of this blanket, we can see also, the waves of the lakes. Because like every animal we have had a previous connection to the Earth (Instincts) in our mind, we are cunning and always find food.
Compared with man, man is always looking for their subsistence in life, for this reason a man will always find harmony to things he does, every animal we see in the blanket, are in harmony with the things they eat or marry, they try to teach us that we should as men be more aware to the things we do to maintain balance with our environment, this manta like the others were made by the hand of a shaman, one who loves and cares for our mother Earth, also chose their best fabric to donate to our cause and help build new homes for others.
